OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the blog are to share my photographic journey to the world, as well as generating some income through advertisements (ads) displayed and donation to fundraising a new camera (model to be decided later).

THE AUTHOR/PHOTOGRAPHER

I was born in 1985, and was raised in the state of Sabah, Malaysia, in a small agri-entrepreneur family. Although none of my family members have background in photography, I started to like photography since I was a kid in lower secondary school, but I cannot afford to own a camera during that time. Since then, I used family's casual compact camera.

I pursued Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Science Bio-industry from 2005 to 2009, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Pathology from 2009 to 2015, both in Universiti Putra Malaysia, which was in its branch campus located in Sarawak. The 10 years of journey gave me opportunities to explore Sarawak.

My photographic journey starred seriously after I bought an entry-level DSLR camera (Nikon D5000) with a basic lens (18-55 mm) in 6th March 2010. I joined few photography groups, gained many friends with the same interest, went to few photography outings, and participated in photography courses. Most of my knowledge, skills and techniques in photography was acquired through online reading, sharing with friends, and off course with try-and-error.

Through my journey, I felt that I am more interested in nature and landscape photography. I am feeling lucky to live in Sabah and spent 10 years in Sarawak, which both of states were located in Borneo Island which are surrounded  with diverse natures, landscapes, and cultures.

Although I am still using the same old camera and lens, I will continue to chase my dream, which is to publish a photographic book for documentation of local plants, flowers, fungi, or landscapes.

Thank you.
